Why I Took a Break (and What I Learned).
It wasn’t planned.
And when someone like me takes a break without planning for it... well, it feels like a big, fat failure.
I’ve always been an all-or-nothing person. I used to think that was a good thing. Spoiler: it’s not.
When the break happened, I had a lot in motion. A dream project—a beach retreat with continuing education, coaching, yoga, all the things I love and am actually good at. Didn’t happen.
I had invested in an online gig. I bailed.
I had plans for new continuing education classes. Walked away from those too.
And the career coaching platform? I had a name and everything—Bloom. But I stopped talking about it. Let it wilt.
Reading this, you might think: Wow, this chick is super flaky. You might even decide you’d never sign up for anything I offer.
Honestly? I get it.
But I’m also sharing this because someone out there might need to hear it. And for me, that’s worth the tradeoff.
I could’ve kept walking away from massage and all the things it’s taught me—teaching, mentoring, connecting. For a while, I really thought I had. And I made peace with that… until I didn’t.
Some health concerns this year gave me a hard reset. And through that, I’ve felt something reawaken.
I’m ready to chase joy again.
Connection with massage therapists is one of my happy places. It brings purpose, growth, and a sense of belonging. So—I'm back. Not with a five-step plan or a perfectly scheduled calendar. Just me, treading lightly, but showing up.
I want to be honest with you—and with myself: I’m still a little apprehensive.
What if I overwhelm myself again?
What if the fulfillment fades?
But then I ask... what if it doesn’t?
What if this time, it feels just right?

It all begins with an idea.
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
